Goosebumps is a popular series of children's horror fiction books written by American author R.L. Stine. The series made its debut in July 1992 with the publication of Welcome to Dead House. Published by Scholastic Publishing, the series quickly gained popularity among children and young teenagers, becoming a cultural phenomenon throughout the 1990s.
The original series consisted of 62 books and ended in 1997. However, due to its enduring popularity, the series has been revived multiple times. The first revival, Goosebumps Series 2000, was launched in 1998 and ran until 2000, consisting of 25 books. In 2008, R.L. Stine brought back the series with Goosebumps HorrorLand, which added another 19 books to the franchise. This was followed by Goosebumps Most Wanted and Goosebumps SlappyWorld, further expanding the series.
The Goosebumps books have been translated into numerous languages and have sold over 400 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling children's book series of all time. The series' success led to various adaptations, including a television series, feature films, and merchandise, further cementing its place in popular culture.
